This award-winning Punk-Horror-Drag starlet combines frantic balls-out performance with dark comedy and the bad taste midnight movie sensibility of John Waters. One of London’s most exciting alt-cabaret stars.
Baby Lame is renowned as one of the capital’s top MC’s, and hosts the hugely successful circus cabaret dance party ‘Mariah and Friendz‘ which has played sold out shows at Underbelly Fesitival and Wintervile, aswell as holding a monthly residency at Bethnal Green Working Mens Club for the last 4 years. Other MC credits include regular projects with The Glory, including Europe’s largest Drag King competition ‘Man Up‘ alongside Adam All. Baby also fronts the popular ‘Pop Horror‘ franchise at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern.
Baby is also an experienced producer, with over 15 years experience working in both Television and Event management. They are the creator of the critically acclaimed monthly variety night ‘Shit Show‘ at The Glory. Other producer credits include collaborations with Secret Cinema, Wilderness, All Points East, Y Not Festival, Ace Hotel, Timeout, The London Eye, Bunga Bunga and And What? Queer Arts Festival.
Baby made her international debut in San Francisco in 2016, starring as villain Lame Edna alongside Peaches Christ, Honey Mahogoney and Katya in PCP’s world premiere of Spice Racks at the Castro Theater. She regrouped with Peaches this year joining the UK cast of ‘Drag Becomes Her‘ for a 22 date sellout tour alongside RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Jinkx Monsoon and Ben Delacreme.
Other noteable credits include emceeing Europe’s Largest Drag King competition ‘Man Up‘, hosting Drag takeover events with the London Eye and Timeout Magazine and earning the leading role in Finger in the Pie’s ‘Wunderfinger’ at London’s Wonderground. Baby also gained a role in Jonny Woo’s children’s show at the National Theatre River Stage, which led to them creating their own children’s show ‘Poop Show‘ for the National Theatre.
Her award-winning solo show ; ‘Baby Lame: Don’t Call it a Comeback!‘ has played hugely successful runs at Brighton Fringe (The Marlborough Theatre), Hot August Fringe (RVT), Mimetic Festival (Vaults), VAULT 2015 and Edinburgh Festival (CC Blooms).
Upcoming projects include her long awaited follow up solo show – ‘Whatever Happened to Baby Lame‘.
